Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes classifies arrest warrants as public information. However, Chapter 119, Section 071(2)(c) exempts active criminal investigative information from public disclosure. Consequently, Florida law shields active and unserved warrants from public access to protect law enforcement investigations and public safety.
